Location: North Africa Country: Libyan Arab Jamahiriya Company: International Engineering Services Company for oil service, Survey, concrete technolo Duration of the contract: 12 months possible extension Job Requirements: ESSENTIAL FIRE CHIEF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Coordinates Fire Department programs, services, and administrative matters with the HSE Coordinator 2. Assumes management responsibility for all Fire Department services and activities, including fire training, prevention, emergency medical services and suppression. 3. Directs, oversees, and participates in the development of the Fire Department's goals, objectives, work plan, and budget. 4. Delegates work assignments, projects, and programs; monitors work flow; and reviews and evaluates work products, methods, and procedures. 5. Initiates internal investigations when appropriate and directs corrective action as needed. 6. Close interaction of the fire team with the HSE team. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: The principles, practices, methods, and equipment employed in fire fighting. Fire hazards and fire prevention techniques. The use of fire records and their application to fire prevention and fire protection administration. The rules and regulations of the department pertaining to fire prevention. Ability to: Direct and coordinate a multidisciplinary staff in fire fighting, fire prevention, and fire service activities. Perform a broad range of supervisory responsibilities over others. Maintain discipline and respect of employees. Comprehend and make inferences from written material in the English language. Observe, monitor, or compare data to determine compliance with prescribed operating standards. Lead and command effectively in emergency situations. Produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper English sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar. Review or check the work products of others for conformance to standards. Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Additional Requirements: The individual must be physically capable to carry out the job (supported by fit to work certificate). Oil & Gas industry background is mandatory, especially in remote locations.
