This position is based in Kazakhstan. The Well-site Geologist will be involved in a major Oil & Gas operator’s project.
Activities:
• Assist the operations geologist in the preparation of the well planning documents (Statement of Requirement (0, 1, 2), Statement Of Work, Operational Procedures, definition of core measurements, hazard identification and risk assessment...).
• Predict, Detect and Evaluate during drilling operations the geological risks (high pressures, losses…);
• Ensure the transmission of information concerning the safety of the drilling operations;
• Interpret the geological data while drilling to steer and optimise well placement, define casing points or TD point.
• Supervise all geological offshore activities, including mudlogging, electrical logging, logging while drilling, coring, VSP (optional)... and all other geological activities);
• Guaranteeing an optimum delivery of services by geological contractors by organising pre-spud meetings, preparing risk assessment reports, ensuring an efficient acquisition of data, quality control and validate the geological and reservoir data and information quality and verify they match expectation, gathering all data and reviewing and approving the contractor reports;
• Implement challenging wellsite interpretation techniques, such as the Gas While Drilling or Geosteering techniques to ensure an optimum well placement (Senior Wellsite geologist only, occasionally Wellsite geologist)
• Ensure a pertinent reporting of geological operations;
• Select, edit, correct the log data before use by creating the Log Composite Diagraphique (LCD);
• Detect and estimate the reservoir properties and the fluid content (Quick-Look);
• Prepare and edit the final geological well report;
• Synthesize all well data to be integrated in the geological model.
• Participate to the decision of geological sidetrack with town, should the results of the well not be as per expectation.
• Check compliance of job ticket to the conditions of the contract, and approve job tickets offshore by ensuring the service was delivered and that appropriate contractor’s equipment was mobilised to perform the job.
• Maintain the confidentiality of contracts (document) available onshore.

Qualifications and Experience required:
Graduate engineer with minimum 5years’ experience in oil, gas, energy or construction industry.
Good in English (speaking and writing)
Fluent Russian is mandatory.
Good communication skills, able to work in a multicultural environment.
