Our client, one of the leaders in the field of global operations and maintenance services in the oil and gas industry, has an opening for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument Senior. Position on organisation chart: Reports directly to the Discipline Supervisor
Activities:
Operations: Organization and performs all maintenance activities. Ensuring that all maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in strict compliance with company operating procedures and any relevant statutory legislation in order to maintain all such equipment in sound and safe operating condition. Performing daily work activities, in accordance with his individual job/task procedures, checking that the quality of work is acceptable before the equipment is returned to service. Ensuring that all equipment is restarted and running efficiently after repairing. Maintaining permanent anticipation on the potential problems that could occur in the production plant, in close relationship with other sections, in order to prevent non-productive or non-efficient operations. Reviewing any work carried out by contractors to ensure it has been efficiently executed to an acceptable standard. Performing correct electrical commissioning activities prior to start up any equipment or any system subject to modification. Forwarding to his Supervisor all maintenance intervention requests. Ensuring that all spare parts are correctly stored. Reporting to the Supervisor any anomaly in the spares inventory available on site.
Methods: Reports and analyses diligently any unforeseen event (shutdowns, accidents) to his Supervisor. Ensures high reliability of the systems he is in charge of. Updates all specific procedures and ensures that all these procedures are fully applied and understood by all personnel under his direct responsibility. Updates all technical documentation and the CMMS database Records all spares part consumption.
Quality Assurance: Participates in periodic meetings to ensure proper co-ordination works. Also, designs, follows-up and optimizes maintenance concepts in close co-operation with his maintenance supervisor. Assists his Supervisor to assess, organize, train and motivate personnel to ensure the company has a competent and satisfied workforce.
Optional Services: Ensures, in conjunction with procurement, that spare parts stock levels are adequate and maintained, and that materials/equipment received accord with specifications. Works with Procurement in the definition of mini-maxi, and/or Safety, stock for all new equipment, and carries out updates as necessary. Carries out any other duties that may be assigned from time-to-time as safety drills and safety intervention team.
Context and Environment: Site is located in Arctic area, temperature can reach -50 deg C.
Purpose: He carries out the on-site maintenance tasks within his field. He carries out modification operations and formal inspections of equipment in strict compliance with COMPANY’s current safety rules and operating procedures and in accordance with standard industry practice, thereby guaranteeing that operations such as machine inspections and the like are carried out satisfactorily. He ensures an acceptable level of availability of vital equipment on the production sites.
Qualifications required: The holder of this position must have the following qualifications: Engineering education. Not less than 5 years’ experience with similar equipment and plant preferably in the oil or petrochemical industries. Computer literacy is an advantage.
Specific professional knowledge: CMMS : SAP/R3 DATASTREAM 7I. Mechanical: Siemens Tornado turbo generator, Caterpillar Emergency diesel generators, compressors. Electrical: Inverters, high voltage cells, Sclumberger variable speed units. UPS Instrumentation: Delta V, Triconnex SSS, Emerson metering. CMMS: UNISUP R/3, DATASTREAM 7I. A rigorous and methodical approach, an ability to maintain good relations with colleagues and contractors. Physical ability to work onshore under the climatic conditions of the site Languages : English is necessary.
