RESPONSIBILITIES • Operate the deck cranes within the designed (SWL) loads in accordance with the de-rating tables applicable to existing weather and sea state condition. Report any malfunction immediately. • Ensure that safe work procedures for crane lifts are adhered to. • Operate the main crane tugger winches and forklift as requested. • Ensure that only marked, certified and suitable lifting appliances are used and available for use for lifting purposes. • Make daily inspection of crane cable and condition. • Maintain the cranes on a daily basis including operator cabin. • Liaise with First Engineer on crane maintenance and performance in order to ensure that repairs and preventive maintenance are carried out properly. • Inspect weekly the cranes in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation. • Fill up the crane logbook as required. • Carry out properly all orders and instructions given by his superior. AUTHORITY The Auxiliary Crane operator has the authority to: • Stop construction activities if required on safety or on technical grounds if to continue could cause any damage. QUALIFICATIONS • As per Company external qualification and training matrix • Fluent in verbal English EXPERIENCE • Two (2) years' experience as an offshore crane operator up to 100 ton. capacity.
