The ability to work as part of a team and the ability to effectively interact with a variety of Plant and Field Operations, project construction managers/representatives, project management personnel and other departments is essential. Must be flexible and goal-oriented, and have strong personal skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to work independently. Capital projects experience in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
The Construction Manager will be working with Field Construction Supervisor, HES representatives, the Completions representatives, and Procurement representatives. The Construction Manager also interfaces with the project Quality, HES and Business groups. The Construction Manager will be the primary point of contact in project team with other groups such as SCM, Operations, Maintenance, Railroad, Reliability, and Marketing.
The Construction Manager will also:
Develop, promote and implement Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture and initiatives by actively participating in the IIF Leadership Team and promoting a safety culture at site at all times. Ensure project construction support to Environmental Stewardship intents.
Implement site safety and security procedures and project work rules, and support HES work responsibilities.
Provide input on the engineering and design effort in Constructability Reviews and other VIP's related to Construction.
Participate in site walks, audits and reviews as appropriate.
Coordinate communication and field activities between project construction teams and other departments such as Storage & Shipping, Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Marketing as necessary to support overall project objectives.
Work with the project procurement team to ensure the timely delivery of equipment and materials to support efficient field execution activities.
Provide input to the development and implementation of the overall construction execution plans for project and ensure that an overall construction work scope is clearly defined and finalized
Oversee planning and development of temporary offices and support facilities such as common facilities, managed tools, equipment and supplies.
Rigorously enforce Change Control procedures.
Monitor to ensure Contractors erection of facilities are compliant with Project specifications, drawings, safety, quality and regulatory requirements
Ensure communication, completion and verification of Integrity Critical Variables throughout construction phase including communication through operational procedures and planning, completion, collection and turnover of records of contractor provided as-built documentation to Engineering to demonstrate and validate achievement.
Provide overall safety, planning, management, quality and control of work to successfully achieve construction effort on schedule.
Assist in providing construction testing and mechanical completion and turnover/final acceptance of systems (pre-commissioning, commissioning and Start-up) in a systematic manner.
Special Skills / Requirements:
The candidate should be familiar with both Project and Corporate Construction Management and Operational procedures. Have strong understanding of related disciplines and proactively seek such knowledge to best accomplish job tasks. Champion and ensures the use of safe work practices and procedures and is a role model with respect to safety leadership behaviors. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to all levels of management.
Leadership - Ability to gain alignment and enthusiasm around reaching world class performance. Ability to work interfaces with embedded construction managers/representatives on multiple existing major capital project teams. Recognized as providing a positive team environment where people want to come and work. Allows people to contribute their best and fosters learning and mentoring culture.

Required Qualifications:
Proven construction management experience and expertise involving planning and executing construction activities in an operating complex plant environment, integrating project with existing work practices and processes, and coordination with turnaround activities
Demonstrated experience in design/construction of produced water treatment and handling equipment, pump and pipelines
Must have successfully implemented Incident & Injury Free (IIF) on similar size and complexity projects
Ability to work interfaces with support groups and team members with multiple reporting relationships
Ability to interface and effectively work with various cultures and stakeholder involved with the project (operations, partners, technical, company, government agencies, contractors, HES, Strategic Business Unit (SBU) management, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to mentor less experienced construction professionals is critical
Experience in managing major construction contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated commitment and implementation of Operational Excellence programs to support Injury and Incident Free (IIF) performance thorough understanding and application of Protection of People & Environment (PPE), Operational Excellence (OE) tenets and Safety in Design (SID)
Must have successfully implemented Incident & Injury Free (IIF) on similar size and complexity projects Strong knowledge of OE processes and requirement for implementations is desirable
