Job Description Title Engineering Manager
General Overview: Responsible for the technical leadership and personnel management of the engineering team. Coordination of projects related to product design, manufacturing engineering or other engineering functions including cost reduction, productivity and capacity improvements, and quality improvements.
Education and Experience: B.S. or advanced degree in Engineering/Scientific discipline with minimum 8 years of related design knowledge/experience preferred.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages the activities and career development of assigned employees. Provides technical leadership within engineering team. Liaise with different product line engineering groups to ensure project focus and timelines. Prepare yearly capital and expense budgets, and aid in preparation of business forecasting. Manage an engineering function pertaining to the design, manufacture, or the testing of Company Products. Manage the development of new designs or manufacturing processes as required to fill the product line. Maintain engineering standards to insure consistent and competitive performance of Company products. Aligns and prioritizes projects aligned with company goals. All other duties as assigned
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Product Line Specific – Able to manage and lead projects related to the design and application of new products and product features. Provide engineering support for matters of a complex nature which require innovation and the use of a wide variety of established, modified, or new engineering methods and techniques Engineering Leadership : Display ability to provide technical leadership to group and effectively communicate technical objectives externally.
