For the project in Azerbaijan we are looking for a Drilling engineer Key accountabilities
Engineering & Operations delivery;
• Provide detailed well design and engineering to optimise performance and deliver maximum long term value. In particular, detailed well drilling operations program generation including contingency plans,
• Investigate best practices/learning and incorporate them into design and operational procedures. Optimize well design in line with cost, functionality and safety metrics. Evaluate and propose alternative well designs and drilling technologies,
• Develop the execution plan for use in Technical Limit activities. Manage technical input on Drilling well budget for the well including detailed time and cost estimates,
• Manage and coordinate service providers input into well planning and operations activity. Identify and order key long lead items required for well operations,
• Coordinate and filter Master Equipment Lists. Facilitate scheduling and procurement requirements for well operations. Ensure individual well Cost Estimates are prepared in a timely manner and monitor daily costs while drilling.
o HSE / Integrity Management;
• Ensure compliance with Company Health Safety Security & Environment and Integrity Management practices.
o Standards, Processes & Technology;
• Delivery of planning according to Company’s guidelines within the agreed planning schedule. Prepare drilling engineering dispensations. Maintain validity of documents through relevant process,
• Coordinate Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) work performed by service companies. Raise, follow up and close Non Conformance Reports when appropriate,
• Ensure compliance with well Equipment Assurance Program as required,
• Perform and document comprehensive risk assessment for operations. Complete Risk register matrix and close all actions prior to planned operations,
• Capture all pertinent performance data for reporting. QA/QC daily reports. Deliver Final Well Report and hold post well review with integrated team,
• Review and implement fit for purpose technology into well design in line with cost control.
Essential criteria & qualifications
• Azerbaijani citizenship,
• Proficiency in English Language,
• A degree in Engineering,
• Minimum of six years of drilling engineering experience,
• Technical and operational skills to deliver planning and execution of the Drilling activities. Demonstrable knowledge in risk weighed cost estimating, cost management, contract management, hydraulics, torque, drag and casing wear prediction & modelling, casing design, mud system analysis, bit optimisation, directional/BHA planning, drilling fluids and cementing, developing well operation summary programs, hole section guidelines, recommended practices, technical limit implementation and post analysis of operations,
• Certificate in IWCF Well Control (Subsea) Supervisory Level,
• Knowledge of Risk Management,
• Transfer and application of best drilling practices.`
Desirable criteria & qualifications
• Demonstrable capabilities of Leading, developing, training and coaching less experienced drilling engineers,
• Knowledgeable of technical assurance. Technical Supplier performance management,
• Demonstrable leadership of Safety Programs for drilling operations and participate fully in developing HSSE culture,
• Able to meet deadlines and prioritise workload. Proven track record as strong team player. Recent Involvement in direct engineering support to an offshore team in drilling related matters, technical problem solving and action taking,
• Flexible approach to work and clear time management skills,
• Interdisciplinary engagement and performance delivery focused,
• Knowledge of pore pressure and fracture gradient prediction,
• Technology transfer engagement and Technical Input in drilling related contracts,
• Ability to create engineering studies in support of future well activities,
• Implementation of knowledge management plan ensuring capturing of lessons learnt from Execute stage and integration into future drilling procedures,
• Aptitude to innovate and be open to new ideas, networking and global technical knowledge sharing,
• Offshore operational drilling experience on semisubmersible rigs, HTHP wells, underbalanced drilling, rig based workover operations or coiled tubing drilling,
• Background in offshore Extended Reach Drilling
