Our client (big oil & gas company) looking for Cost Analyst!
To assist with the financial control throughout the project by supporting the Project Cost Engineer in preparing analyzing, and issue of internal and external reporting as required
Assist with the provision of accurate financial reporting in order to meet deliverables and achieve optimum performance
Main Duties:
Prepare in conjunction with the Project Cost Engineer the monthly Cost and Schedule Stewardship Report for Project Manager(s) showing Work In Place, Forecast and variance analysis
Liaise with project team regarding project status and incorporate relevant cost status within above report as required
Liaise with Project Cost Engineer and Controllers to provide cash flow information
Work with Controllers in the review and coding of project invoices
Assist with maintenance of cost database
Assist with the establishment and maintenance of cost processes and procedures
Establish and maintain offshore timesheet database
Assist Project Cost Engineer in various cost reconciliation exercises
Provide support as requested to Project Manager and Project Cost Engineer
Assist Project Cost engineer and Controllers in the preparation of monthly WIP accruals and YE accruals and review YE re-accruals and reconciliation of same on an ongoing basis
Background and experience required:
Must have:
Accounting experience and / or background in a similar role
Understanding of the principals of Work In Place (WIP) and Cost Forecasting
Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) experience with good spreadsheet and presentation skills
Good interpersonal skills
Good team player skills
Ability to demonstrate initiative and flexibility in regards to work tasks
Ability to work overtime when required
It is not necessary that the successful candidate has accounting or business qualifications. For this role experience in accounting or similar role is preferred.
