Head of HSE Department

My client is a reputable KZ-EU joint venture Exploration & Production company based in Western Kazakhstan who is currently urgently looking for an experienced and highly qualified QHSE Manager/ Head of QHSE Department for their expanding operations.

Role:

• This is a long-term, challenging role that requires hands on approach and strong leadership skills.
• You will be required to have an ability to plan ahead, see the bigger picture and recognise early any problems that may arise on existing operations or any future projects.
• As a Head of QHSE Department, you will be assisting a General Director as well as interface with every department within the business to ensure the QHSE standards implementation on their large CAPEX projects throughout the business.
• Supervise a growing team of 25 HSE and Quality specialists; provide guidance, training and support.

Main responsibilities:

• Day to day control of production facilities as well as be fully involved with all operational activities.
• Be closely involved with local authorities dealing with all relevant QHSE matters.
Implementing and developing internal QHSE program and activities.
• Be a strategic leader in implementing QHSE rules and regulations across the business.
Develop existing as well as implement new QHSE policies and procedures.
• Support HSE activities related to hazardous working environments such as H2S and HPHT.
• Ensure the Quality control is implemented throughout the company, perform Quality training and audits.

Prerequisites:

• 10+ years of experience in the industry.
• Ideal candidate should have a relevant degree and NEBOSH certificate.
• Be fluent in English, both written and oral. Russian language would be advantageous.
• Have wealth of experience in Kazakhstan or knowledge of local laws and HSE regulations.
• Ability to demonstrate appropriate technical knowledge.
• Have excellent administrative and Communications skills
• Oil and Gas experience on big CAPEX projects will be advantageous.
