Responsibilities: • In charge, under the responsibility of the Package manager, of the follow up and supervision during the different phases of the project up to and beyond Project Sanction (Basic, Feed, Detail Design, Procurement, Construction, Installation) of the instrument discipline studies to be carried out
• Technical authority and responsible of the instrument discipline. In charge of the coordination with the Process Design Team, with the Safety Design Team and with the Operation Team in order to define and implement all the requirements in the Instrument Control and Safety Systems
• In charge of the design of the Integrated Control & Safety System (ICSS) and field instrumentation
• During the project, the Job Holder has to:
• Define, follow-up and evaluate the instrument discipline studies to be carried out
• Review and digest the pre-project studies and Basis of Design
• Verify the deliverables to be produced by the Contractor(s) related to ICSS
• Participate actively in the definition and design of the ICSS system, LLI, packaged unit instrumentation and control systems and all field instrumentation
• Promote alternatives for instrument design to reduce and to optimise the site works and in particular all tie-in works with existing facilities
• Monitor instrument discipline studies during engineering (technical, costs, planning, interfaces, reporting)
• Contribute to the evaluation of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and review / approval of deliverables from design Contractors
• Supervise and promote cost saving solutions for the plant design and site works
• Clearly identify the possible deviations from Company referential and report of the same to the Engineering Manager for final decision on implementation and initiate the associated deviation request
• Contribute and coordinate the engineering interfaces with other disciplines and existing facilities
• Check that the design is developed in line with the Pre-Project and the Statement of Requirements
• Give technical inputs to the definition of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
• Coordinate ICSS & Instrumentation activities (Scope of work, Engineering, FAT…)
• Communications with Corporate Organisation for key reviews on HSE, in technological, in operation and project requirements related matters
• Call for and participate to necessary technical and/or co-ordination meetings required to achieve the performance of the work
• Participate to weekly and monthly progress meetings
• Contribute to the Tender Packages preparation, Technical Evaluations, Recommendations To Award … for selection of the Contractor(s)
• Participate to Technical Reviews/Audits (HAZID, HAZOP, PTR …). Ensure follow-up and implementation of outcome
• Participate to the ICSS Factory Acceptance Tests
• Provide support/participate to construction and commissioning for activities
• Ensure detailed progress reporting to the project management
• Responsible for the quality of the engineering studies that are produced by the Contractor together with his deliverables
• Ensure that the EPC Contractor is well administrating the ICSS sub-contract
• Participate to site visits as necessary
• Provide input to the Engineering Manager for ICSS & Instrumentation progress reporting (data, narrative …), highlight critical problems and propose corrective actions
Requirements:
• Graduate engineer with minimum 10 years experience in Instrument design, in managing large engineering contracts and designing Instrument Control Systems
• Sound background in O&G engineering areas with good knowledge in process and topsides design
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
• Experience in team management and skill in external communication, able to work in a multicultural environment
