Job Description The Engineer shall have the ability to assess that the design of piping systems on a project, are in accordance with Industry Design Codes, using PC based stress programs, manual calculations and experience. The Engineer shall have adequate experience to adopt a practical approach to pipe stress problems and be familiar with the requirements/interactions of other engineering disciplines. He must have working knowledge in the checking of piping drawings, preparation of piping specifications and data sheets.
Specific Accountabilities - Coordination and implementation of Piping engineering including pipe stress work. - Maintaining design integrity and quality within the asset team. - Appraisal, training and development of personnel. - Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness. - Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Oil & Gas Business Unit. - Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Oil & Gas Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
Job Requirements - Anticipated a minimum of 7 years + experience specifically in Piping Engineering. - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.. - A background / knowledge in piping layouts and piping design procedures. - Knowledge of Industry Piping Codes. - Experience in piping engineering including pipe wall thickness calculations, branch connection reinforcement check and equipment nozzle load calculations. - Substantial experience in the Oil & Gas industry and/or Petrochemical Industry. - Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrated performance as a team leader is preferred. - Dynamic and enthusiastic approach is essential
Matching Indicators - Capable of assessing pipe routings with regards to stress and supports. - Ability to use Caesar and manual calculations - A practical hands on approach is required
