Job Description Development and Management of construction and completions capability on Hydrocarbons projects ensuring that structural design integrity is not compromised while managing the structural department in the execution of the process
Specific Accountabilities - Promote and drive the involvement of Construction in areas of technical design, schedule, preliminary execution planning, and cost estimating. - Develop and maintain a familiarity and appreciation of capability and ongoing work load Construction support providers / contractors. - Develop and maintain functional responsibility for all construction and completions personnel with the region’s Hydrocarbons sector - Overall supervision of structural engineers. - Technical competence of structural personnel. - Forecast requirement for structural engineering resources, and allocate those resources. - Structural design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards. - Identify structural software necessary to enable structural group to function effectively. - Prepare structural discipline man-hour estimates to perform project tasks. - Manage structural engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule. - Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable. - Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives. - Technical supervision of project designated structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties. - Prepare weekly structural progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis. - Benchmark structural design/drafting to identify areas of improvements. - Manage design change within project budget and schedule framework. - Check compliance with Alliance QA/safety/environment goals.
Job Requirements - Experience with the development of layouts for new facilities - Experienced in the specification, evaluation and documentation of equipment. - Work is performed in accordance with broad technical guidelines and with minimal supervision. - Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them.
Matching Indicators - Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering - 10 years + plus design experience within the oil and gas offshore industry 15 to 20 years experience in construction management in any of the following areas: - Offshore brown fields major projects - Offshore green fields projects. - Onshore brown fields major projects. - Onshore green fields projects. - A proven track record and demonstrable success in the management of HSE in major projects.
