Must be a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
•Must have an Engineering Degree from an accredited University. Higher level degree preferred.
•Experience in Electrical engineering and construction of petrochemical facilities.
•Broad knowledge of Electrical engineering standards and design practices.
•Experience in Construction Project Management in plant/field construction is desired, but not required.
Coordinate with Power System Analysis Engineer for all revisions to system and updates to protective relaying, fault levels using ETAP Protection module
Perform coordination reviews to support projects.
Determine protection requirements for all Electrical Connection Permits (requests for Technical Conditions)
Recommend protective schemes to small projects, based on Standards, where they are not clearly defined in the TCO Specifications. Does not perform design for projects.
Review protection designs and settings for new connections to the power system. Does not perform the design, but rather checks for impacts on the existing system and for consistency with guidelines.
Coordinate with ETL Group on any required setting changes and/or device changes
Perform engineering and develop MOCs for all electrical system protection system modifications and setpoint changes. First “Gate” Approval on all protection and interlock MOCs including coordination review for EWR/MOC work. This does not include coordination reviews for large projects. These are performed by NEI/ETC
Coordinate with outside parties on large system studies and large projects in conjunction with NEI and ETC support
Manage outside expert review of protection designs and settings. Manage the contracts with outside protection consultants Institute Energia and NEI electric power engineering inc.
•Proficiency in use of MS Office Programs (Word, Excel is required & Access (as user) prefered).
•Knowledge level of English language profficiency (speak/read/write) (Level 2 or higher on proficiency scale) is required.
•Involvement in Incident Investigations as required or all events related to relay protection.
Planning & Organizing - Demonstrated skills at developing priorties based on input from numerous customers and at overseeing timely execution. Ability to coordinate activities with other groups. High level English skills. Can balance short-term and long-term goals and objectives. Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment with frequently changing conditions.
Work Experience - Electrical Engineering Degree or higher education, higher technical education with at least 10 years post graduate experience in Electrical Protection. Experience with Multilin, Sepam, MICOM, SEL and Seimens Protection relays. Experience with ETAP Protection program.
Autonomy: Must be able to work independently with initial guidance and periodic reporting and review of work direction and progress. Initiation of timely, effective, and periodic interactions with peer-level Supervisors/Leads both in department as well as Operations & Maintenance are crtical.
Written & Oral Communication - Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely and focus on the customers needs. Must be a good listener. Ability to work with a diverse group taking into account differences in language, culture, and thought process.
Teamwork - Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and cohesive team spirit between and among diverse work groups. Strong commitment to working in a team environment and able to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
