MATERIALS ENGINEER IN SUBSEA PROJECTS
Contract Period: Start: ASAP End: 28.03.2014
Assignment description:
Subsea Delivery Team (SDT) handles critical deliveries through our main SPS contractors for well pressure containment components. Our team of materials discipline engineers in SDT have the following responsibilities:
• Act as materials technology discipline engineer in and provide technical expertise to subsea development projects in Statoil.
• Ensure that deliveries are according to Statoil’s governing documentation and requirements
• Provide assistance in procurement of materials and equipment. Follow-up and quality assurance of critical and new components and materials, welding procedures, manufacturers and suppliers.
• Attendance of Kick-off / Pre-Fabrication Meetings on specific qualification activities
• Review and comment to Quality Plans and Processes (ITP)
• Review and provide comments to (as deemed necessary) to Contractor Qualification Procedures and Specifications. Handling of technical queries and deviation requests.
• Review Manufacturing and Testing Reports generated by Contractor. Review of certificates, procedures, and reports (materials, welding, NDT, coating). Audits of contractors and fabrication yards.
• Witness critical production steps and testing activities as defined in Contract
• Close cooperation with the materials discipline team and discipline ladder.
The position is based in Oslo, however, travelling to Contractors' and sub-suppliers' sites is required.
Competence requirements:
University degree: MSc/PhD in materials technology or similar.
Documented materials technology and welding competence with knowledge of subsea production systems.
Familiarity with Statoil's governing documentation and requirements is advantageous
Personal qualities:
