Position: Materials officer Activities:
• Coding of all maintenance and general materials, equipment and spare parts in accordance with the approved coding system. Assigns codes for new materials ensuring proper specification and part numbers are applied. Makes data entries to the computer system as required;
• Checks and revises vocabulary description for stock material and performs local technical enquiry in order to update and rationalise data (Manufacturer Part Number, Short & Long description to be reviewed and completed, Material group, etc.) required for each item in the Master Material database;
• Carries out duties related to the continuous review, updating and rationalisation of vocabulary lists of materials, spare parts and equipment kept in stock at the Company's main warehouse. This includes identification of materials used at more than one location to standardise on stock set-ups, and reviewing regular inventory status and stock management reports;
• Carries out the follow up of the Master Material database (approximately 9000 items). Ensure that it contains adequate links (code) for interface between SAP and Datastream (CMMS) for Maintenance material requirement;
• Follows upon the input of data into the stock management system (SALSA) to ensure accuracy;
• Includes ensuring there is no duplication of orders/requisitions or double input of information.
Qualifications / experience required
• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical;
• 3 year's experience in stores and/or stock / Material control within the Oil/Gas industry;
• Good Knowledge of software (Excel) and computerised material control system (SAP);
• Stock / Material Control expertise;
• Excellent practice of English (spoken and written), French will be a plus.
