Mechanical & Piping Engineer
Function
• The job holder manages, under the responsibility of the Engineering Manager, all technical activities related to Mechanical & Piping during the Basic & Detailed engineering phases, with particular attention paid to HSE matters
• The job holder is the main interlocutor of Engineering and company’s Contractor(s) for Mechanical & Piping technical issues. He liaises with the relevant company’s specialists whenever required.
During the project, the Job Holder has to:
• Review and digest the pre-project studies and Basis of Design
• Verify the deliverables to be produced by the Contractor(s) related to Mechanical & Piping
• Coordinate and supervise Mechanical & Piping studies for the Central Process Facilities, associated drilling Pads …
• Check that the design is developed in line with the Pre-Project and the Statement of Requirements
• Ensure coordination of Mechanical & Piping activities with the other Specialists within the project team. Ensure global consistency of the design
• Follow-up Contractor(s) activities. Control and comment all Mechanical & Piping documentation issued by contractor(s) related to engineering, procurement, project management, fabrication and tests, and check that they are as per Company specifications and rules. Review and answer to the Engineering Queries and Requests For Waiver
• Call for and participate to necessary technical and/or co-ordination meetings required to achieve the performance of the work. Participate to internal and external interface meetings
• Participate to Technical Reviews/Audits (HAZID, HAZOP, PTR …). Ensure follow-up and implementation of outcome
• Liaise with operating team to collect necessary data for the project
• Contribute to the Tender Packages preparation, Technical Evaluations, Recommendations To Award … for selection of the Contractor(s)
• Manage technical interfaces related to Mechanical & Piping between EPC Contracts, LLI’s …
• Participate to the equipment Factory Acceptance Tests
• Provide support/participate to construction and commissioning for activities related to Mechanical & Piping
• Verify that the Contractor(s) are administrating properly the Company Long Lead Items
• Participate to site visits as necessary
• Participate in weekly and monthly progress meetings
• Provide input to the Engineering Manager for Mechanical & Piping progress reporting (data, narrative …), highlight critical problems and propose corrective actions
Requirements
• Graduate engineer with minimum 10 years experience in the oil industry as Mechanical & Piping engineer (upstream)
• Experience in design, construction in oil&gas industry
• Upper-Intermediate level of English
• Good communication skills, able to work in a multicultural environment
• Good knowledge of HSE standards
