Purpose
• day-to-day monitoring of drilling and logging operations, activity programme control and management of operation change control
• update the drilling sequence with actual data and collects statistics on various activities
• maintain the subsurface target portfolio, designs well trajectories and prepares the well proposals
• prepare a long-term drilling sequence for annual planning and budget purposes
• initiate intermediate & short-term programme changes and manage these according to procedure
• be involved in stratigraphic correlation, 2D/3D mapping and basic 3D static modelling tasks
• be involved in wider geoscience and/or field management activities, depending upon skills and operational requirements
• assist the Lead Geologist and Chief Geologist as and when required
• technical supervision of geoscience contractors

Accountabilities
• Adhere strictly to Company’s Health & Safety rules;
• The candidate must be a skilled operations geologist, able to start immediately upon commencement of job;
• Assist in the planning, monitoring and early evaluation of appraisal, development and exploration wells;
• Provide 24hrs support to the Field Subsurface operational team from the Moscow office;
• Take part in a 24hrs drilling operational duty system;
• Apply programme change management procedures at all times;
• Create a long-term drilling sequence for planning & budget purposes;
• Maintain an updated drilling sequence and perform various statistical activities;
• The candidate must have recent experience in using Petrel software and Microsoft Project & Office;
• Provide support to the creation & management of the Subsurface Portfolio;
• Provide support to projects from exploration through to development stage;
• Manage & QC specialist contractor work;
• Assist the Lead Geologist and Chief Geologist;
• Liaise effectively with a wide range of technical & non-technical disciplines;
• Be willing & able to coach colleagues;
• Promote the Subsurface Team and the Geoscience Team in particular;
• Willing to attend an optional short-term field assignment for familiarisation purposes;
• Willing to travel to the field and various other locations in Western Siberia.

Requirements
• Geoscience education;
• 3-5 years experience in Operations Geology;
• 1-2 year of field-based logging and/or operations supervision experience;
• Full awareness of drilling/logging operational and geological risks;
• Proven training & mentoring skills.
• skilled Petrel software user;
• skilled Microsoft Office & Project user;
• skills in TechLog an advantage;
• familiarity with Russian Energy Laws, Normative Standards & Regulations is an advantage;
• proficient in technical English;
• able to deliver fast and to high standard & quality;
• good inter-personal and communication skills;
• able to work in a multi-disciplinary team;
• experience in waterflood oil fields is an advantage;
