Position Opportunity Lead Russia

UIB OI & Growth is responsible for: identification and development of regional new business opportunities, identification of Merger, Acquisition and Divestment opportunities and resourcing of UI/Upstream/RDS inorganic special projects, opportunity ranking and resource allocation, and Competitive Intelligence.
Purpose Identify and develop Upstream and integrated, regional business opportunities
Accountabilities
• Identify business growth and portfolio optimization opportunities;
• Participate in (virtual) teams to assess these opportunities further;
• Lead maturation of individual opportunities;
• Translate feasible opportunities into realistic comprehensive business value propositions and actionable plans;
• Build and maintain external and internal (CI, strategy & portfolio, UIX, regional teams) networks;
• Prepare senior management briefs on business development opportunities;
Dimensions
• Opportunities and projects are global and often reach across EP boundaries;
• Multi discipline (Technical, Commercial, Financial and Legal, External Affairs), x-Business (EP, GP, DS) and Third Party (Governments, NOCs and IOCs) cooperation form key aspects of many opportunities and projects;
• Opportunities and project NPV ranges from US$10’s ML to US$ billions;
• The allocated budget for opportunity evaluation teams may range from US$50k up to US$1 ML in the Identify & Assess phases, whilst Select phase project budgets can be > US$1 ML;
Special Challenges
• Determination, tenacity and self-starting self-motivation capabilities are needed to work on multiple simultaneous projects with potentially low probabilities of success;
• UIB OI & Growth is a de-layered organization requiring drive to work with minimal supervision;
• Professional credibility and strong relationship skills are needed to build and maintain internal and external networks and to be plugged into the wider business development community;
• Discretion and respect for the highest level of confidentiality are a prerequisite;
Requirements
• Minimum 10-13 years of experiance in Oil&Gas industry;
• Minimum 7 years of experiance in Business Development, M&A and searching for new projects in oil&gas production and\or oilservice companies;
• Fluent English is a must;
• Professional qualification with substantial oil & gas industry experience;
• Some commercial experience or MBA is helpful but not a necessary requirement;
• Understanding and preferably experience in risk and economic evaluations;
• Strong power of analysis to translate complex opportunities into clear value propositions;
• Credibility and ability to articulate project rationale within wider organization and with third parties, excellent communication skills;
• Delivery focus, and track record of team work;
