The leading international Contractor onshore and offshore operations provides high-quality project management, design, maintenance and construction services in oil and gas sector, for its project on Sakhalin Island is looking for a specialist to the position Piping Engineer. Requirements:
Piping engineering skills as per basic functions
A degree or local equivalent in piping engineering is mandatory
A second degree in another engineering subject (i.e. mechanical) or project management would be an advantage
Minimum of five years experience of an piping engineering environment and additional experience of the oil & gas industry would be an advantage, although experience in other related industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, manufacturing, marine construction, etc would be considered
Ability to communicate with both the design group and the piping engineering discipline
Ability to operate as part of a small team
Ability to demonstrate good safety awareness
Ability to work in teams in a multicultural environment
Upper-intermediate spoken and written English
Basic Functions:
To provide basic piping engineering expertise including:
To identify the piping content of a scope of work and plan the execution of the work required to complete that scope.
To complete requisitions and technical bid evaluations of piping items.
To take part in discussions regarding estimates, resources, man power allocation and survey time required to enable a plan to be produced.
Assist the piping designers in carrying out layout studies to route new pipes. If necessary, go offshore to check out the layouts. Assist the designers in producing piping general arrangements of the newly routed pipes.
Assist the piping designers to produce piping isometric and pipe support details to enable the pipework and pipe supports to be fabricated and erected
Assist the construction engineer to produce job cards.
