Responsibility
• The Process Engineer is the key person within a project execution team responsible for all process engineering activities such as: process heat & mass balance; process flow diagrams; process equipment design memorandums, process & instrument diagrams; equipment functional specifications, definitions & data; process control definitions and process safety documentation; • Understand key factors in chemical engineering unit operations especially heat transfer and distillation including running the Hysis simulation tools; • Develop, modify and interpret simulations for any given process as needed in steady state for design, rating, and even optimization purposes; • List the functional requirements for the equipment; • Understand the basic attributes and functional operation of process equipment and machinery; • Assess/ calculate the performance of equipment such as compressors, pumps, warm end cooling equipment, pre-purifiers, expansion turbines, heat exchangers and distillation columns; • Have functional knowledge of plant instrumentation; • Analyze technical problems using first-principles; • Make fact-based decisions to resolve issues in a timely manner; • Gain field experience, assist on start-ups or perform plant operations analysis including process data reconciliation using process simulation software; • Will interact with business and operations groups in proposal preparation, project definition, project execution, commissioning and plant evaluation. This also included interacting with the customer; • Lead process safety efforts including project specific process safety meetings, critical operating parameters, safety checklists and hazard analysis reviews; • Will report to the Engineering Manager for Russia; • Work globally with the other regional skill centres to review and optimize the plant and process. • Controls the Process & Instrumentation document development with input from all team members; • Assembles the Control Item Summary with all of the instrumentation setpoints listed for the P&ID. • Participates in the Advanced Control System Simulations.
Experience • Have a degree in Chemical Engineering and 3 to 5 years experience in the chemical process industry; • Have good knowledge of Russian and English and one major European language is a benefit • PC-competent and have excellent communication skills; • Working in an international environment is a challenge for you and you are prepared to do short assignments abroad; • Have an innovative attitude, are proactive, a self-starter, service-minded and a strong team player.
