Position: Production Engineer
Accountabilities
• The position holder aims at developing on Site the company operational approach. He introduces to the Production team a structured approach towards daily activity. He backs up non-routine activities or operational issues with needed documents, sometimes by coordinating activities with other departments. He is consolidating data and feedback.
• Based on oil production site, integrated in an international team to carry out operations on the field to meet oil export objectives.
• Operations are supported by head office, where a Production Engineer has a complementary scope of work. The position is held by two persons that should go through the whole scope alternatively (refer to Field Operations Support Engineer).
• Difficult local context.
• Operations are carried out in a sensitive, isolated and severe artic environment.
Responsibilities
• Ensure that HSE policy, frame of reference are adhered to;
• Contribute to maintain integrity of plant and competency of personnel to operate safely;
• Participate to / lead risk assessments required.
• Ensure the implementation on site of tools required for the production follow-up;
• Contribute to operational feedback on oil, gas and water systems to Head Office;
• Take part in elaborating the production & injection program;
• Define in collaboration with Well Services the oil and injection well operations;
• Daily reporting on production issues (shortfalls, program, wells parameters);
• Propose and follow-up indicators for oil production and wells and for injection and gas / water wells.
• Assist Production personnel in solving operational issues;
• Contribute to resolution of abnormal situations;
• Follow up production and injection well activities, including well testing;
• Ensure of the proper integration of well operations in field activities to minimize impact on production and optimization of well productivity;
• Lead the definition of chemicals injection program, with a view to optimize the quality of the export oil;
• Assist in defining the needs related by daily production activities in terms of analysis or chemicals.
• Define the tools required to optimize the operations of wells and facilities;
• Prepare, assist and review procedures in his domain of competences;
• Contribute to the well performance group by being the Site focal point;
• Define tools and method to carry out a follow-up of special equipment dedicated to production;
• Contribute to analysis of the production and injection loss and propose corrective actions;
• Develop in accordance with guidelines provided by the Production Superintendent, the quality control plan and prepare its implementation.
Requirements
• From 5 years experience in oil production
• Degree in Petroleum Engineering;
• Additional education on operational safety, well operations, reservoir, process;
• Fluent English is a must; Russian citizenship.
