Production Geologist
Purpose
• As a member of the regional development team, ensure full value delivery from company’s Hydrocarbon resource Base in the Russia-Caspian region through effective venture governance and support on HC Maturation and Well & Reservoir Management.
Accountabilities
• Support the Development Manager across the full spectrum of his Petroleum Engineering and Development activities, but especially:
• Monitor and steer the geoscience aspects of subsurface proposals and activities of the Joint Venture operator to ensure company’s interests are protected and optimized
• Execute the geoscience elements of NCPSA (Kashagan) reserves reporting
• Represent the company in partner technical meetings and workshops
• Provide geoscience support for growth opportunities
Special Challenges
• Maximise the value for the company in a Non-Operated venture environment by using appropriate influencing skills and strategies
• Working under pressure
• Need to work seamlessly across multiple locations (Kazakhstan, Russia and The Netherlands) and multiple stakeholders
• Maintain a functional link with the global company’s Geoscience community
Requirements
The successful candidate must:
• have a university degree in Geology or equivalent
• should have Geological modeling experience (PETREL tool), geophysics experience, reserves evaluation/ classification, can be from an operating company and from a scientific institute
• have at least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably on both clastic and carbonate reservoirs
• preferably have experience with SEC Proved reserves reporting
• experience with the Russian-CIS subsurface related permits & approvals system
• have excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and networking skills for building and operating diverse relationships
• be able to work independently
• proven interest and commitment to HSSE
• be able to speak and write English, or be willing to attend English language training
