Position Project Engineer (GTU)
Function • Ensuring a project is fit-for-purpose and adheres to the project budget and schedule. • Ensuring all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed. • Accounting for engineering tasks to ensure they meet contract requirements. • Developing project-specific procedures for the work to be carried out. • Identifying and addressing design parameters and engineering problems and ensuring solutions are implemented. • Ensuring all justifications for contractual variations during projects is maintained to support subsequent commercial claims. • Evaluating, organising and prioritising work within the overall project schedule. • Liaising and managing contractors to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose.
Accountabilities • Be single point of contact for Project Manager regarding all technical clarifications. • Work independently under limited supervision to execute technical assignments and tasks. • Coordinate engineering activities that deal with design, fabrication and testing. • Evaluate design changes and actively participate in design reviews. • Hold meetings on “as needed” basis to resolve interfaces and technical clarifications. • Organize own workload allocation to meet agreed project timelines and budget. • Ensure interface register is maintained and variations discussed with PM that have Cost/Time impacts. • Prepare written reports on all activates and testing performed. • Writing/updating procedures for the engineered solutions and manufacturing processes. • Involvement in Tender and Budgeting of new projects.
Requirements • Knowledge of a broad range of subjects, from economics to materials. • Excellent maths, science, and IT skills. • Strong organisational skills. • Good teamworking skills. • The ability to explain design ideas and plans clearly. • The ability to analyse large amounts of data and assess solutions. • Confident decision-making ability. • Excellent communication skills. • Project management skills. • The ability to work within budgets and to deadlines. • A comprehensive knowledge of relevant legal regulations. • Patience and the ability to deal with people. • Chartered Engineer or similar education level. • 10 to 15 years experience in Oil and Gas related to Engineering design areas with large number of interfaces. • Experience in large project development and organisation, in harsh environment. • Good knowledge of English, Knowledge of Russian Language considered an advantage. • Knowledge of project development in Russia and methods used to submit dossier to state expertise, permitting process, technical approval, Russian Federation norms and standards, restricted equipment design when Russian content maximised - are all either an advantage or to progressively acknowledge and incorporate.
