Our Client, a world leader in engineering, technologies and project management for the Oil & Gas Industry, is currently looking for experienced professionals for the position of Quantity Surveyor Reporting Lines: Reporting to the Lead Quantity Surveyor
Accountability
The Quantity Surveyor supports the Construction Contracts Administrator for issued related to the administration of the Construction Contract regarding re-measurement, change items and payment.
Position Outline
The Quantity Surveyor, in his dedicated discipline:
• Checks and verifies re-measurements prepared by the CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS
• Verifies the monthly payment certificates and reports them to Lead Quantity Surveyor / Construction Contracts Manager
• Studies all justifications given by CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS for any change orders or claims requested
• Does some estimates for the Change proposals of the Construction Contractor for evaluation purposes
• Coordinates with the supervisors/superintendents regarding the main works, additional works and field revisions. Hence to know the real situation at site and to know the story behind the claim
• Updates the Change Order / Variation Request log
• Assists in preparing and controlling backcharges with cost control department
• Keeps the filing of various Construction Contracts and all related correspondence in accordance with the relevant procedures and instructions by Lead Quantity Surveyor / Site Construction Contracts Manager / Construction Contracts Administrators
• Assists in preparing correspondence to CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS for review of Lead Quantity Surveyor / Site Construction Contracts Manager
• Assists in advising the Site Construction Contracts Manager of any matters that may lead to a claim situation by the CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS
• Prepares final accounts and all close-out documents
