Position
Safety Officer
Function
• Provide advice, guidance and support for all HSSE issues across the Construction Site;
• Provide HSSE professional advice and support to the site managers including job hazard analysis, incident investigation and remedial action planning;
• Assist the development, tracking, and implementation of HSSE action plans per the guidance of the Site manager;
• Promote awareness, effective communication and implementation of HSSE best practice and incident learning at all levels with staff and its contractors;
• Support HSSE communication, sharing and learning and participation on regular HSSE meetings.
• Give HSSE Induction and Contractor Orientation;
• Review and manage HSSE performance of contractors under operational control as well as influence those who are not under operational control;
• Maintain close contact with the contractor's safety team;
• Assist where possible the contractor in all safety aspects;
• Carry out frequent (daily, weekly, monthly) site tours to check on safety aspects and cleanliness;
• Report any incidents to the Site Safety Manager;
• Participate in meetings with the contractors site team and safety team;
• Ensure compliance with local/company relevant requirements.
Requirements
• Construction site work experience;
• 2 years experience on a position of HSSE specialist (advisor) Local HSSE legislation framework;
• Pre-Intermediate English level;
• Sound understanding of HSSE policies, standards and procedures;
• Sound interpersonal & influencing skills and ability to work in a matrix organisational environment, influencing people and delivering results, usually without having formal authority or line responsibility;
• Communication and HSSE training skills.
