Purpose:
To provide specialised expertise within the Maintenance Engineering Group to review, promote and co-ordinate activities related to corrosion identification and prevention, including material selection, material certification, corrosion monitoring, cathodic protection system and chemical inhibition for (specify type of equipment, process medium, system working pressure & temperature)
Duration: 12 Month Contract with possible Extension
Basis: Residential 5 days per week
Indicative Day Rate: £550 GBP per day worked
Role Activities:
The job holder is responsible for:
· Review Contractor proposed designs and specifications
· Provide options and recommendations relating to corrosion engineering issues
· Identify key/critical process and material used
· Define and evaluate procedures and plans for non destructive testing and activities in order to control corrosion levels
· Integrate Corrosion Activities in RBI process
· Provide support in the development of the CMS / IMS and its interaction with the OIS (particularly CMMS)
· Promote and assure the continuous improvement of the corrosion control process following the field feedbacks
· Assist in the definition of plant modifications
· Input into the Opex model, pre-operation and operation budgets
· Input into the VOWD (value of work done) report
· Manage Material Certification
· Input to the technical training of National Technicians and competence assurance schemes
· In addition, he will assume the position of technical authority for the Discipline of his competence acting as Material Advisor
Qualifications & Experience:
· Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering, or Corrosion Engineering.
· Fluent written and spoken English;
· Minimum 10 years experience in Corrosion and Inspection activities;
· Previous significant experience in the Corrosion engineering in oil and gas complex;
· Knowledge and experience of oilfield operations
· Computer literate and be able to prepare and make presentations.
