Function • Ensure commercially sound, accurate, repeatable, timely and fit-for-purpose economic analysis that supports efficient and effective decision making, including appropriate Risk & Uncertainty analysis. The incumbent may work on multiple (1-5) opportunities/assets at any one time. • Contribute to the development and maturation of business opportunities and projects, and analyze uncertainty and risk in investment value; • Determine the value of assets, opportunities and businesses as required as part of the opportunity realization, asset management and business planning processes and assist asset and project teams to optimize value; • Build and maintain auditable economic models, assumptions and reference materials for a particular asset and/or project; • Maintain model documentation, data-books and comply with the Economic Assurance Review process and maintain corporate data as required; • Responsible for obtaining, calculating and submitting all asset business plan (BP) information requirements; • Perform economic calculations for JV/asset Group Investment Proposals (GIP) and commercial proposals (Deal Sheet, PCN) when necessary and calculate economics in support of Reserves calculations if required; • Coaching junior members of the team and sharing best practices as required.
Requirements • At least 6-year-experience in economic analysis, business and finance modelling; • Work experience in oil and gas or mining exploration and production companies; • Commercial professional with good understanding of the Upstream business (preferably technical and commercial mix); • Prior Petroleum Economics experience is important; • Deep domain expertise in at least one fiscal regimes (and their evolution) e.g. Tax/Royalty, PSCs, Margin Deals, Buy Backs, hybrids, as well as many of the common creaming mechanisms found globally; • Numerate, with proven strong analytical skills and computer literacy; • A dedication to look for and quantify upsides, downsides and the "unquantifiable"; • Ability to recognize links between wide ranging issues with the skill to develop overviews and propose solutions under changing circumstances; • Strong communication skills; • Leadership and staff management skills, and the ability to influence and motivate individuals from a variety of backgrounds to work together in pursuit of team goals; • Open minded, challenging others' and own assumptions and output; team player; • Results oriented with commercial focus, risk aware and dedicated to seek improvements in business performance; • Strong professionalism and integrity, trusting, trustworthy and respected, with customer understanding (responsive, yet critical and authoritative, able to hold a diverging view).
