Supervisor Functions: Manages company exploration and new business development geoscience, reservoir engineering, and upstream technical work.
Responsibilities:
The primary job function in the first year is to co-ordinate all aspects of acquiring geo-technical work and data on several Russian sedimentary basins (oil and gas provinces) from various Russian state and private entities including Russian technical institutes.
Helps define goals, negotiate/define products, assist with contract and compliance issues, monitor progress, act as single-point-contact, and expedite delivery and quality of products received from the institutes or other entities.
Working jointly in a multidisciplinary team to help evaluate potential upstream opportunities for company . These opportunities include assessment of: discovered but undeveloped fields, exploration blocks, and acquisitions. These assessments require the ability to conduct geological and geophysical interpretations of subsurface data (e.g. seismic and well logs), evaluation of subsurface risks and uncertainties, development planning, and basic resource/reserve estimates.
Must be able to work with project engineers, commercial, and geopolitical staff.
Requirements:
Master'a degree or higher in geology or geophysics (or perhaps reservoir engineering).
English fluent
Experience working with Russian technical institutes and state organizations (Basically we need someone who can do high-level supervision of work we plan to do with various government and private institutes for about half of their time, and that can also do geo-technical work during the other half).
Will need to work closely with legal and regulatory representatives to ensure compliance with Russian laws regarding the purchase, use, and export of subsurface data.
Experience with the geology of West Siberia and East Siberia (Yakutia, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk) would be very useful.
Experience: 10-15 years experience in the oil industry
