Position Supply Chain manager

Job Summary Based on the business plans and directions from management determines priorities and assigns resources in Logistics, Sourcing and Customer Service area. Implements action plans to ensure adequate levels of inventory and supply at optimum costs. As a supply chain expert, provides leadership and consultative direction to business management on complex supply chain, transportation and distribution issues. Initiates, develops and directs multiple projects and programs in logistics and supply chain area that have major importance to business departments by setting priorities and meeting project objectives. Directly influences major supply chain improvements with business managers. As a Customer service leader sets high standards of service strategy, continuously improves services metrics and identifies innovative ways to move service standards in the company to a new levels. As a Sourcing leader leads all contract manufacturing projects (tolling, private label etc.), jointly works with European Purchasing team on optimal supply scenarios for local manufacturing sites. Provides direct supervision to assigned employees through leadership, coaching, training and development, allocating work assignments, review of progress in achieving objectives, managing employee compensation, performance appraisals, all relevant employee data, etc. Understands and enforces corporate policies and procedures.
People Leadership: Provides leadership to Supply chain department which includes aligning department goals with Business Units goals, communicating vision and strategy, fostering teamwork and empowering employees. Supervises the daily activities of assigned employees including work direction, performance management, training, development, hiring, recognition, mentoring. Participates in the development of role definitions, development plans and hiring criteria for the supply chain organization. Participates in strategic business plan development for the unit and makes appropriate recommendations. Develops department forecasts, approves expenditures and manages costs in support of the approved business plan.
Supply Chain Process Improvement: Defines activities to meet supply chain goals and objectives of cost reduction, inventory management, supplier management, cycle time compression and improved customer satisfaction. Creates and sponsors continuous improvement projects to meet current and future business goals. Performs cost analysis comparisons to evaluate various options. Investigates new technologies that enhance and optimize supply chain processes through the interpretation of industry trends, customer requirements, and corporate objectives. Identifies impacts on related processes and ensures communication of issues and proposed solutions to appropriate business and process owners. Identifies and exploits best practices for high improvement opportunity areas to optimize supply chain processes. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements - University degree in supply chain management, production operations, materials management, or engineering, or a demonstrated course of study in any of those areas as part of a University degree program, is preferred; - 6-10 years of related job experience; - APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification is preferred. - Applies broad knowledge and extensive experience in supply chain strategies and processes such as order management, demand management, six sigma and project management. Possesses advanced leadership skills in managing people, teams and projects, including direction of others. Demonstrates ability to successfully implement change in the workforce; - Expertise in successful development and implementation of projects, plans and programs to support supply chain and business plans is required. Demonstrated business acumen with a detailed understanding of business requirements and customer base is also required; - Good knowledge of written and spoken English is required.
