Senior Process Design Engineer

Accountability
To provide discipline front end and detailed design input to Brownfield engineering projects, technical support studies as requested, engineering support to the construction / commissioning phases as necessary and providing engineering support to maintenance and operations as requested

Basic Functions
• Carry out process simulations and optimisation studies for projects; prepare PFD, P&ID, H&M balances and equipment sizing. Preparation of engineering calculations.
• Provide process engineering support for ad hoc studies as requested.
• Establish the actual ( as opposed to design capacities and capabilities of existing field facilities in order to identify potential bottlenecks and scope of optimisation Relevant appreciation of all other disciplines areas work and interface requirements to process engineering.
• Participation in risk assessment activities such as HAZOP and CHAZOP.
Principal Responsibilities
• Provide detailed engineering input during all design phases, including interpretation and challenge of standards.
• Actively communicate with other disciplines to optimise areas of interface, during the design development, review and check processes.
• Support design/drawing office personnel with specialist engineering input.
• Prepare requisitions and technical evaluation of bids for discipline material and equipment procurement. Ensure equipment vendors provide timely and quality input into design packages. Review all third party discipline design work.
• Ensure design packages meet the relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic standards.
• Understand the CONTRACT quality management system and ensure these requirements are met.
• Participate in and sometimes lead, discipline design reviews.

Fluent spoken and written English.
Experience in
• oil and gas engineering required preferably brownfield
• conceptual, front end and detailed design experience required
• Field experience in construction and commissioning strongly preferred.
• Experience in an engineering design company/ Russian Design Institute desirable
• experience in on shore projects in cold/ remote regions
Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred
