• Assist the HSE Director with day-to-day management of the HSE Department. • Assist in the development and maintenance of division specific HSE policies and procedures, strategies, practices and programs as required. • Liaise internally and externally regarding HSE regulatory issues at the regional level. • Assist facilities of responsibility with compliance to policies and procedures. • Participate as team leader on incident investigation teams. • Plan, conduct, and document audits of HSE management system requirements and generally accepted safe practices on drilling and deforestation activities in region of responsibility. • Act as a point of contact and source of expertise for HSE related inquiries in the field. • Implement HSE training programs in region of responsibility. • Maintain close and trusting relationships with division and business unit management. • Monitor internal and external conditions which offer opportunities for improvement and distribute information in the form of HSE alerts and notices within the division. • Monitor HSE Management System effectiveness and provide input to the Division HSE Manager. • Manage illness and injury cases in coordination with Corporate Claims Department to ensure appropriate level of medical care is received by injured / ill employee while maintaining lowest incident classification level as described by Accident Statistics Guidelines.
